MOUNT BALDY RESCUE
6-21-08

"A 58 year old man suffered a heart attack while hiking the Ski Hut trail on Mt. Baldy. He lost consciousness and fell approximately 50 feet into the stream bed below the trail. This happened right in front of the Sierra Club Ski Hut, and several of the members inside the hut, as well as other nearby hikers, responded to the victim, helping stabilize him until he was airlifted out. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Rescue team deserves credit for giving this man a chance for the best possible outcome."

About SARstories
SARstories is a resource for those interested in true stories by and about professional Search & Rescue personnel--both volunteer and paid--and those they help. While news stories are great, we're especially interested in firsthand accounts.

So if you have a Search & Rescue blog or website, or a personal story as the rescuer or rescued, e-mail us your link and we'll review your content for inclusion here on SARstories. Do you have a tale to tell and photos to share but no site of your own? We'll be happy to create a page for you on ours.

SARstories will be adding and updating content often--links, articles, photos, videos and other useful information--so check back often. Or subscribe to our blog, SARstories News, to receive updates.
