SAR Resources & Gear

The following are Search & Rescue-related websites that aren't team sites. Those you can find by looking through our team directories. If you'd like your SAR site or SAR gear store listed below, please let us know.

NASAR: The National Association for Search & Rescue

International Society of Professional Trackers: ISPT is a non-profit organization "formed with the intent of connecting all categories of trackers. Connection means a newsletter, a website, a clearinghouse directory, annual symposiums, and any other way of communicating we (all ISPT members) can think up."

SAR Responder: A social network connecting Search & Rescue volunteers and professionals. You can also find out about upcoming events and read recent SAR news.

SARAZ.org: This is an Arizona-based website, but the topics covered are mostly of general SAR interest, including useful documents, free software, and presentations that can be used for SAR training. Here, you'll also find a list of upcoming conferences.

Radio Reference: The world's largest radio communication's data provider, featuring a complete frequency database, trunked radio system information and FCC license data. In other words ... you can probably find your area's search and rescue frequency and listen in online. It's how we often know there's a SAR call about to happen in our county.

dbS Productions: Search & Rescue Research, Publications, and Training

Rescue Response Gear YouTube Channel: Here you can watch all of Rescue Response Gear's technical rescue videos, as well as other rescue videos in their "favorites" section.

Search and Rescue Knowledge Exchange: a place to ask questions about Search and Rescue, started by a SAR volunteer

Decisions For Heroes: Web-based rescue team management and analytics software

SAR Gear Sites

AHS Rescue: "The Arizona Hiking Shack" sells rescue, water, industrial and outdoor sports equipment.

Rescue Response: Rescue equipment for Fire Rescue & Rope Access

Rescue Direct: Technical rescue gear

SAR Shop: Search and Rescue gear for emergency responders, K9, Mounted units, and EMT's

Search Gear: Selling both personal and team SAR and outdoor equipment

SARpack: Pre-equipped 24-hour packs for Search and Rescue personnel and recreational hikers; custom packs available

FireflyK9: Search & Rescue K9 Team products, such as lighted vests and collars.

Yates Gear: Selling work and rescue equipment, tactical equipment, and big wall, rock and ice, and climbing gear

About SARstories
SARstories is a resource for those interested in true stories by and about professional Search & Rescue personnel--both volunteer and paid--and those they help. While news stories are great, we're especially interested in firsthand accounts.

So if you have a Search & Rescue blog or website, or a personal story as the rescuer or rescued, e-mail us your link and we'll review your content for inclusion here on SARstories. Do you have a tale to tell and photos to share but no site of your own? We'll be happy to create a page for you on ours.

SARstories will be adding and updating content often--links, articles, photos, videos and other useful information--so check back often. Or subscribe to our blog, SARstories News, to receive updates.
